Hey Pete. My primary day trading goal leading into 2026 was to increase my risk per trade while employing the same profitable trading I previously have at lower risk.
(One of my simultaneously best and worst qualities as a trader is being risk-averse.)
However, the market for the last few months has been choppier and range-bound, and I’ve…

Hi Pete. I have a somewhat general day trading question.
Starting around 10/2, I feel like we lost a little bit of the intraday directional movement we had for so long. In addition, a lot of moves are happening AH.
I’m still sticking to buying strong stocks, but I’ve reduced my position size considerable because very few trades have been…

Hi Pete. I’m curious how much real-time market internals/index fluctuations influence your decision making on day trades that you’re already in.
On Friday, I took a day trade in BA on the 10:30am breakout of an in5 that was also a an ORB, and also at YHOD. At 11:45 however, after it made HOD, the SPY was collapsing to a LOD on high volume and…

Hey Pete. As we’ve discussed, I’ve been adding to day trades at the 5m ATR using buy stop limits.
One thing that has come up a few times is that the stock blasts through my my stop limit order and I don’t get filled. This happened today on MSFT (I bought the breakout of the BUTN at VWAP at 11:25am and it had a $0.80 5m ATR so I had a buy stop…

Hi Pete. I have two day trade questions related to recent discussions we’ve had.
First: I have been putting positions on then adding at the 5m ATR, then moving my stop up to the previous entry.
While some positions slowly meander their way to my PT, many skyrocket with well bid candles.
Can you walk me through what point you would switch…

Hey Pete, curious your thoughts on a day trade today I did NOT take.
GE pulled back to VWAP and put in a BUTN at 10:40am.
Due to those two well offered candles happening at 10:30-10:40, GE was NOT positive on the hour. As it didn’t meet that criteria, I decided to pass on the trade.
However, in hindsight, it does seem like a good trade that…

Hey Pete. I’ll probably have to watch this replay later.
I took a day trade in AMD short today. Just want to make sure I’m doing things correctly.
AMD in5 at LOD 10:05am, breakdown of in5 was also an ORBD. Filled at 135.50.
5m ATR was ~$0.50 so I added at 134.99, then again at 134.50.
I moved my SL to BE on the previous piece at 134.99 and was…

Hey Pete. I always learn SO MUCH from posting my questionable day trades here, so I have 2 more from today.
This time, they were both profitable, but even as I put them on I was unsure if they were good ideas because the daily/weekly order flow on both stocks are NOT GOOD.
I used smaller share size and had bracket OCO orders on both due to…

Hi Pete. Just curious if I missed something on a trade today.
NVDA in5 at VWAP and SMA20, breakout at 11:05am, IPT 145.
On second look, NVDA was back in its opening range, which I didn’t consider when taking the trade. Also, while QQQ was above its OR, SPY was still in its OR.
So, in retrospect, the trade wasn’t perfect. But I assume it was…

Just want a second opinion on a day trade decision from today.
Today, I went short PANW on the breakdown of the 11:00am BrUTN
(of all the BrUTNs/in5s on my watchlist, PANW had the most bearish daily imo)
My PT was $183.50 because that was about 100% ATR and I was expecting a retracement.
It got down to $184 three times and got bought up each…
