Cutting Profits Short vs. Letting Winners Run / 5-27-25
Hi Pete.
I need a bit more guidance on how you suggest I trade the first hour of the trading day.
My rules are: I look for 15m ORB if SPY/QQQ are above the OP, ORBD if they are below, and the TICK has to be in sync with the overall market and my trade.
When we get some direction in the first hour, this works great of course. However we have a lot…

I have a trade I feel I mismanaged. TraderSync entry/exit image attached below.
Shorted an in5 at VWAP of COIN on Monday. Great trade idea, obviously it followed through. However it followed through without me.
When it finally broke down, I moved my SL down to VWAP and was stopped out by a couple pennies before it did exactly what I expected.
So…

Mindset Tweaks, Managing Profits & Uncomfortable Risk / 4-28-25
Hi Pete, I’ve been really struggling to trade the first 90 minutes of the day recently (which is usually my strength as a day trader), and I’m curious what I can do better.
I look for ORB’s/ORBD’s or in5’s in the direction of the QQQ, SPY, and TICK. I only take a trade if all 3 are in sync and above/below the OP.
Today, we were breaking out…

Maintaining Confidence in Uncertain Markets / 4-21-25
Hey Pete. I’m a little frustrated with a day trade I took today and I’m wondering if it was bad luck or if there’s something I should have noticed that I didn’t.
At 10:40am the SPY and QQQ had a well-offered BrUTN off the 10SMA. We had already moved a lot, so I was looking for one good trade to take as a BrUTN.
At that time, TSLA was one of…

Hi Pete. Curious about your thoughts on 2 day trades I had that didn’t work today.
NFLX BUTN at the SMA20 at 11:15. I feel like this ws a bad idea overall, but at the time felt like a way to get in on the market reversing as the TICK was above zero all morning.
TSLA BrUTN at VWAP at 2:50. I waited all day for this setup and went big on the…

Tape Reading, Optimizing & Market Leaders / 4-7-25
Hey Pete, I’m still experimenting with buying into support on day trades. The pattern I’ve looked for is a 3 candle pattern where a stock tests a previous support level 3 candles in a row, holds and reverses. Today I had one that worked, but I still haven’t found a way of systematizing this into something consistently profitable. And it might…

Patience For Entries, Price Action & The Power Pyramid / 3-17-25
Hi Pete. There’s a day trade “setup” that I’ve often taken, but after careful analysis in TraderSync, I’ve found that it’s not very profitable. I’m curious if you or anyone takes a variation on the idea or if it simply doesn’t work.
- I’m quite good at marking all possible resistance/support areas on my charts, and I will often see a stock pull…

Hi Pete!
A question keeps coming up in my day trading that I’m hoping you can clarify.
(Please note that both of these were stopped for flats but the question remains for the future)
On Friday, both the SPY and QQQ were up and at 11:25am they both pulled back to VWAP.
The two top stocks at this point on my bullish day trade watchlist were NVDA…

Aaron Low replied to the discussion 3-3-25 / Game Plan in the forum Game Plan Meeting 10 months ago
With the SPY and QQQ approaching the bottom of their trading range last week, my gameplan was to find some saturation and snapback plays to get in toward the bottom of support and ride a retracement to the upside. The ones that worked and I’m currently holding are PANW, UBER, ADI, and NET.
I was thinking of these as puny cashflow trades and my…

Hi Pete. Couple day trading questions.
At this stage, my daily trading order to look for is SMS (5min candle breakout), then 10 min ORB(D), then 15 min ORB(D) and after that nothing until a VWAP/OP test or SMS at 10:30am. Curious if you think that’s too many things to look for or if there’s things I’m missing.
Regarding going short on day trades.…
